Thanks all for the warm welcome. Sorry I haven't posted in a while have been busy. I am going to attempt to attach a cpl pics.. need to scan some more to the computer. Hope it works. First pic is a picture of us teaching Logan to snarl. the second is of our poor chihuahua who has to be my daughters dress up doll...lol.

As far as getting the beer from the fridge u need to teach it in two steps. If your dog loves to fetch and carry you things then it should be easy. I use the command go beer for him to go to the fridge and get the beer. So start with go beer and get him or her to understand that he is fetching u a beer.. use a bottle they will puncture cans and yes u will break a few. Just place it in different places in the house.. obviously start close and simple. Once they understand the go beer. Then teach the towel on the fridge gag.. tie the towel to the handle.. just get them to tug on it even if u use your hand first then transfer it to just the door..then combine the two once they have each behavior down seperately. Don't forget their favorite treats.

Hey Kat,

We also have a slew of cats.. seven to be exact. What is the  name of your friend the animal trainer.. may know them.. industry is pretty small up here. We our actually looking for several malinois' to buy for a production coming up this summer. Need one female and two males... we would like good quality lines and we need to teach them bite work for the movie. Preferably one to two years old. You know of any for adoption at rescues or for sale would love to hear from you.

Hello and welcome.  I'm Misty mom to Gracie, 11 mo. old English Mastiff and also Linus, 5 year old cat.  The 'go beer' command is awesome.  Gracie doesn't really care to fetch so much but I'm sure with a little bit of persuasion by frozen bill jac or liver treats, I'm sure she'd be willing to learn.  Glad you found it hear and hope you enjoy it as much as the rest of us do.  Your daughter and her "doll" are precious.  Thanks for the pictures.
Misty slave to:
Gracie Belle, 2 year English Mastiff
Rosco, 1 yr Toy German Shettweiler (designer mutt of course)and toy cause he's not Rotti or GSD size AT ALL.  Though they said he was a mix of the two..  Tonka, 3 year Great Dane
And last and most certainly NOT least, Linus 5 year old cat.

Hey Drew,

I started doing some foster work with Malinois rescue.  Shiner is my foster failure and my first foster so you can see how good I'm at fostering.  :D  You can look on www.malinoisre scue.org.  There is a listing of most of the Mals that are in rescue and some that are listed by other rescues, owners, or whatever.  I know that rescue just took in 12 Mals in Baltimore that range in age from 6-8months to 5 years old.  Plus on Petfinder there is a Male Mal that is 1yo in a shelter in Louisiana.  I'm not sure what lines you are looking for but you can pm me and I'll see if I can help you out.

My friend's name is Jay Pratte.  He is now a panda keeper at Atlanta Zoo.

I have to say that I'm very excited to start training my heathens to fetch me beer.  Now if only I could train them to make me a margarita.  By the way, Logan is gorgeous and he's been added to my kidnap list.  Sorry this is so long.

Hello Drew, thanks for taking the time to answer questions about Logan, the now famous "Mountain Mastiff" from "Shooter".

In regards to Logan, did you happen to get him from a breeder and if so are they offering any future litters?  When I google "mountain mastiff" most of what I come up with are dogs that definitely look more like mastiffs in regards to their features, coat style, etc., but when I look at Logan his head, snout, coloration, coat look more bernese mountain to me, although I can certainly see mastif in his size/stature.  Anyway, what I am looking for is a dog just like Logan and if he really is a mountain mastiff he is very unique compared to most mountain mastiffs I see online.  Whatever information you could share in regards to breeders would be greatly appreciated.  Our home and property would be a perfect setting for Logan's kin.  Thanks again

Josh

Hi! I have been searching everywhere for a breeder of the Mountain Mastiff. If anyone has any information or leads on where to find a breeder I would greatly appreciate an email! Does Drew plan to breed Logan? I would love a puppy. I read a post on a forum from a woman named Denise Curran who said she bred both Logan and Brewski, I replied to her post but recieved no response if anyone knows how to contact her that would be amazing! My email is tri_cia_17@hotmail.com and any information would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!!

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!  A long time ago before kids my husband and I rescued a huge dog (who thought he was a 20lb lap dog) from our local SPCA and the hunt was on to try to find out just what kind of breed this dog was.  We named him Copper because of his colour and various vets told us various things.  They all agreed that he was a mutt and that was where the similarities ended.  We were told he was a mixture of labrador retriever, golden retriever, rotweiler, or chow chow.  We have NEVER seen another dog like him and now, 3 years after having to send him on his way to the big farm in the sky we FINALLY know what he is!!  We sat down tonight to watch "Shooter" on the movie channel and I've completely forgotten about the movie now, it's still on.  Copper looks just like your Logan except with less black on his face!  We are so excited!  Sorry this post is so long but it has been a long time that we have been trying to figure out Copper's origins.  If I can figure out how to scan a pic, i will post one.

Thank you!
Lynda

very interested in your breed of dog and what breeder you were able to get him from.  incredible personality and obvious training.  would love to find more out about your personal dog and the options to find a mountain mastiff myself.  haven't been able to find many good sites or information about the x-breed online.  please contact if you can.  thanks.  garr     garr@Hidden-nyc.com
