Hey guys its Stacy,
We went to go visit Fumble today, Poor Eiren is having a hard time with it all. He came out weebel wobbeling with the tech helping him with a body sling. The poor guy with his elizabeth collar on, i felt so bad for him. Hes so big and that thing is huge!! of course he just had some water and in Fumble style just shoved his whole head into it! so he was soaked, but that made me feel like he was more himself. He was so excited to see Eiren and I and just wanted us both within an eye shot, esp with the cone. He evenetually realized though that he wasnt going home, got upset and turned around, sat down, and looked away as to say "If you're not going to take me home, then just go!" Poor Eiren, i think her heart just sunk at that point.. We spent some more time with him and then headed out. He most likely will not come home until Monday but eiren has the day off so thats good. His leg looks okay, but im not sure what to look for. I know i am going to be a nervious ninny when he gets home, being so over protective!
Poor Eiren though she got in the car and started bawling, and has been so upset and sick to her stomach since. I told her not to worry though because if Fumble can be in his PoPo on You Mood he is definalty feeling better!!
We took a few pictures that I know Eiren will post of the big guy when she wakes up from her nap!
Thank you again everyone for all your support! And Gracie and anyone else that has had this surgery, any post op tips that would be helpful that worked for you I would really appreciate!!

Thanks for the update.  We have been thinking about all of you.  We trust that the vet will have some post op instructions.  You can let us know his recommendation s and we may have some helpful hints at that time.  Love to Fumble!!!

Ohhh, poor Fumble & Eiren.  I hope that Fumble is resting comfortably now and that Eiren feels better after her nap.  It's so awful being worried about our furbabies, and my stomach also acts up when I get really worried or upset, so I really feel for you all.  I do think that it's a good sign though that he felt well enough to give you the popo on you treatment.  That shows a bit of  personality and that has to be a good sign just one day post op!

Wow! I'm just getting caught up here!  Poor Fumbs!  I'm glad to hear that he came through the surgery alright, and can only imagine the sorrowful eyes in that cone (not to mention how it catches the drool....still have an old one of Barkley's around here somewhere...co mplete with dried drool) and then the poo-poo'ing of you both.  He is such a character!  Take good care of each other and give him a big slurp from the east coast of Canada for us all here.

Fumbles Home!!
Eiren called the vet this morning to see if we could go down and visit him and the tech said that he was on the discharge list for today and we could come get him!! Eiren had the biggest smile after that, I on the other hand was starting to get nervous! Needless to say we were there as soon as we could be waiting impatiently to see him.
The tech said that he is really not to be active at all for the first two weeks, which she said she didnt think was going to be a problem. She said he is one of the most lazy dogs shes ever seen. I guess he layed down outside this morning and just peed laying down (What a ham, but man he is a little stinky!)
His leg isn't too bad. The Tech said that its minimal swelling right now, but that might change and that his brusing is darker than they like so we have to keep an eye on that one. Other than that he is putting weight on it so they said hes doing good.
Eiren and I got him in the car, with eiren basically lifting his back up with a belly sling because we were so scared cuz he had to jump in the car then on the seat in the back. When we got home eiren carried the back half in the house as well. He is doing okay, weve got him secluded to the porch which is about a 8X10 room that is the only room thats carpeted and it gets nice and cool at night seeing as the windows are really lousy windows! Eiren even moved her TV onto the porch so that we can be in there with him as often as possible and then hes got some entertainment when no ones home! Smiley
He is starting to get a little fussy wanting to be in the house but its a no go because this way he is only walking around in the room when he feels necessary or hes doing a butt drag, where he kind of drags around the room?? (Such a BUM!)
The tech told us we didnt have to use the E-collar when we were with him, but hes already tested that water and pretty much needs it on all the time. hes a bitter and chewer!
Other than that hopefully we can get him out to pee at some point and then maybe he'll sleep, he hasn't yet since hes been home and that was around noon. Thanks again for all the prayers! We'll definalty take some pictures tonight or tomorrow and post Smiley

Whheeww! I can't tell you how happy I am to hear that Fumble's doing better.  I can only imagine what you are going through! It's weird! I feel like I have this little kindred connection with Fumbs....he's one of the reasons I feel in love with newfies!!  So, needless to say, we are all sending you sighs of relief, positive thoughts, hearts, glitter, and jazz hands!!!

Hang in there!
