New Game! Name that Quote
« on: May 03, 2007, 07:28:32 pm »
This can get a little hard- but the idea of this game is to name a line or quote from a book, poem or speach. For instance, "Call me Ishmael" and the next person would answer "Moby Dick by Herman Melville" and give a new quote.

First one:

"The man in black fled across the desert, and the gunslinger followed."

Stephen King House of Song of Susannah (great set of books by the way!)

All these soldiers of ours have their eyes on you, and if they see that you are downhearted they will all become cowards, while if you are yourselves clearly prepared to meet the enemy and if you call on the rest to do their part, you can be sure that they will follow you and try to be like you.

The Tao of Pooh??

"The thing under my bed waiting to grab my ankle isn't real. I know that, and I also know that if I'm careful to keep my foot under the covers, it will never be able to grab my ankle."

THe Foreward of Night Shift Stephen King

Vanity and pride are different things, though the words are often used synonymously. A person may be proud without being vain. Pride relates more to our opinion of ourselves, vanity to what we would have others think of us.

Corelli's Mondolin by Louis de Bernieres. Great book.

The only way to truely rid yourself of temptation, is to indulge in it.
