If I Didn't Have Dogs...

My house could be carpeted instead of tiled and laminated...
All flat surfaces, clothing, furniture, and cars would be
free of hair...
When the doorbell rings, it wouldn't sound like a kennel...
I could sit on the couch and my bed the way I wanted,
without taking into consideration how much space several fur bodies would need to get comfortable...
I would not have strange presents under my Christmas tree
-- dog bones, stuffed animals, toys, treats nor would I have to explain to people why I wrap them...
I would have money ... and no guilt to go on a real vacation...
I would not be on a first-name basis with 4 veterinarians,
as I put their yet unborn grandkids through college...
The most used words in my vocabulary would not be: out,
sit,down, come, no, stay, and leave him/her/it ALONE...
My house would not be cordoned off into zones with baby
gates or barriers...
My house would not look like a day care center, toys
everywhere...
My pockets would not contain things like poop bags, treats
and an extra leash...
I would no longer have to Spell the words B-A-L-L-,F-R-I-S-B-E-E, W-A-L-K, T-R-E-A-T, B-I-K-E or C-A-R...
I would not have as many leaves INSIDE my house as
outside...
I'd look forward to spring and the rainy season instead of
dreading "mud" season...
I would not have to answer the question "Why do you have so
many animals?" from people who do not have the joy in their lives of knowing they are loved unconditionall y by someone as close to an angel as they will ever get...

Awww, it's so true! I wouldn't trade all of the fur bunnies (nope, not dust), dog toys, etc. for all the clean in the world. Now a housekeeper to go with my dogs & kids? In a nanosecond!

Nope, I can't relate at all! Not that I just went and bought a 2'x 2'x 4' water trough for the dogs today so that Kaila had a bigger bowl to swim in outside along with her kiddie pool. Nope, I didn't do it.

It is pouring down rain outside as I am reading these- all of the pups are in the house and most of them are standing on the back of the couch and barking at some unknown evil. I am about to have to log off to go and vacuum up the equivalent of another Pyrenees and throw away the stuffings of a stuffed baby who has now crossed over to the stuffed toy bridge. Once I finish this, Zoey will need her meds, drain and cleaned, and together we will decide if we are going to rewrap with pink wrap or that really pretty flourescent orange wrap. I have the mop ready for the mounds of mud that will be brought in after they all make the mad dash for the potty and of course I am again washing the bed covers since there is always at least 200 pounds of dog that sleeps with us every nite. I pity the non pet person, as they have never ever really experienced unconditional love.
If I didn't have dogs I would have my sanity--but then that would be boring.
I can't imagine not ever having a dog..ever. "Those" people do not know what they are missing....hav e they ever seen a dog mate with a mammal..I think not..have they ever been locked out of the house late at night by a Vizsla grinning on the inside....see what they are missing....lol
