When we lived in Alaska we once had an orphan moose calf living in our yard for the entire summer ! It was great ! He was old enough to eat grass and such on his own but once winter started to set in we never saw him again .
That professor that was killed at the University ... well we heard that a bunch of students had been tormenting the cow and calf all day ...... Teachers in the school had been told about it , and that the cow was getting really ticked off and nothing was done about it until it was too late
What we really liked about living in Alaska was all the tongue marks on all the vehicles in the winter ! LOL The moose like to lick off the salt !
The highway( Think it was Old Seward Hwy..) between the town we lived by (Wasilla) and Anchorage actually has a sign on each end warning you of the Moose on the road and it has numbers they change everyday telling how many have been killed by vehicles each winter , it gets up to 300 or so ! My Mom was a 911 dispatcher , so when a Moose was hit by a car they'd send a few guys out to put the Moose down if needed ,and then butcher it right then and there and they give the meat to needy families in the area .
Interesting , huh ? LOL
