I BF all three kids and loved it.  I have such fond memories of those sweet, snuggly times.  We called it the ultimate fast food b/c no boiling, mixing, heating, etc.  ;D

Awww, I remember those sleepy sweet little smiles so well.  We're past the baby stage now and raising our little (and not so little) men, but those are some of the times that I miss the most about the early days.  BTW, there's some really, really cute stuff that happens as they get a little older and still nursing, too.  Our youngest was a little toddler when he'd tell me that he was tired by saying in baby talk "pillow, blankey, 2 bubbas, take nap?" as he'd drag his favorite pillow to me to snuggle & nurse.  Such wonderful memories....

I'm glad that you are enjoying Rose so much.  She's a beautiful baby!   :-*

I Breast Fed both of my kids until they had teeth which for my son was all of 4 months my daughter was 9 months before the biting started.

We then swithed to a soy formula for both of them, which they loved and it was kinda nice to not have to take on all the feedings by myself.

I did still pump though until they both were a year old so they were both still getting breast milk even when they were no longer breast feeding.

I agree...that sweet little face staring at you. :) I BF my son until he weaned himself at 10 months. It was so easy and wonderful. I was afraid when I had him because 5 years prior with my daughter I tried to BF, and OMG!! The blisters, cracking, bleeding PAIN. After 2 weeks I had to switch to formula.

I breast fed Molly for as long as I could. I was in high school, so it was kinda hard, but I managed. At around 8 months, it became too much, though and I had to stop. After that, I pumped for awhile and then switched to formula.

I bottle fed both my boys. My first would never latch on (they say it's common with C-section babies) and my second I managed to BF for about a month. It's not for me either. I am too modest I guess, so the idea that if I left the house and the little one suddenly got hungry... IN PUBLIC made me reluctant to ever leave the house. As convenient as it seems to be for most women, it made my life less convenient. Both my boys have always been super healthy and happy so I never have regretted my choice. I too was pressured; especially with my second. He didn't want to latch on either and the nurse went so far as to suggest that I should "let him starve" until he figures it out because good Mom's BF. I was in tears at the hospital (hubby wasn't all that supportive either). I think that's why I did eventually BF with him for a little while.

Ooooh ,I am a huge breast feeding activist ! It's the most natural thing for your baby !  I've nursed my three oldest kids for at least 13 months each and then Cole is still a booby baby at 5 months . LOL Plus , if you nurse at least every 4 hours , especially at night , you have 6 months of natural birth control  :D
I've been thru it all , mastitus , cracked bleeding nipples , clogged milk ducts and horrible thrush .... But I've never given up and I'm so glad I haven't !

Also , breastfeeding Mom's catch alot of flack too . Sure ,I know there are some Mom's out there that don't cover up at all while nursing ,but the majority do . I always cary a blanket with me and drape it over my shoulder so no one can see me , most people can't even tell what is actually going on . I was once asked by an older man to take my baby to the restrooms to nurse him ..... My hubby jumped all over him for that one . America seems to think of breasts only as a sexual thing anymore .....
