The misadventures of Lin and Grace continue
« on: October 02, 2007, 12:09:52 pm »
so last night i took Grace to Riverside Park.  It was a warm night.  I wore my comfy shorts which have no pockets.  I tie my keys with the waist band string and we go, my keys safely in tow and jingling around my belly.
well, me and Grace waundered as we do.  We climbed up and down the bank of the river, through the baseball field and around the old RR bridge.
it started getting dark around 7:30 so we made our way back to the Jeep.  Slowly, we explored the river bank in the light of dusk, cuz you know it smells different that time of day.  :)
i got back to the Jeep and reached for my keys so i could pop open the hatch, load up the dog and zip through McDy's for ice cream.
THE KEYS WERE GONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   oh my GOD!  My keys.  Grace, the keys.
Luckily i keep a spare set safely locked in the Jeep just in case i happen to loose the only other set i have.  and the house keys are locked in the Jeep too.
I crack the windows most of the time and we found a stick to pry open the window and to reach the electric lock with.  Too bad it's dark and i can't see the switch and i hadn't cracked the window enough.
A guy fishing worked his way over to see what i was doing.  He saw Grace and made a point to make friends with her first and then went looking for a longer stick to help.
We were thinking when my horn started to beep.  Oh no!   If things could get worse, they just did.  Now my horn won't shut up.
A voice from behind called out, "you probably need these!"
MY KEYS!!!!!!!!!  The lady had my keys.  She found them in the dark, two kids and a dog in tow, at a bench 1/2 mile back.
i thanked everyone and opened the Jeep, popped the dog in the back and off we went.

Ok then do give me some of your tricks or advice on how you always seem to find fresh meat. I'm looking but can't find anything at ALL!

No I haven't and my reason for that is there are a lot of scary and weird people out there these days. I'm a big chicken.

LOL Thats great luck right there!!

I'm not so sure about hitchhiking either but honestly I met my (now ex) hubby by kicking him. I kicked him in the leg and kept walking. LOL Great times.

he was ok.  I passed him a few times looking for the stick to break into the Jeep with.  He seem unphased even though it said loudly enough to Grace that we were screwed.  he meandered up to us and then around looking for a helpful tool.  He seemed more interested in his fishing line in the river.
i think god interveened when he led the lady with my keys to me

Yup!  And none of the uncomfortable he's-not-getting-the-hint-I-want-him-to-go-away moments.  Just ignore the emails!!

Actually I did ignore Jeff's for a while.  When he started emailing my personal account, I didn't realize his email address.  It's Tongue@blah blah.com - He has a long tongue like Gene Simmons...cool and creepy at the same time!  Anyway the subject said "Hey beautiful" and with that screen name, I thought it was some pervert from the dating site and I was racking my brain how he got my personal email.  I deleted the first three I got from him and finally read the fourth.  He said he wasn't going to try any more if I didn't answer and then I had to sheepishly explain why I wasn't responding...L OL!  He had a good laugh about it!
