Food for Saint Bernard Puppy?
« on: October 05, 2007, 09:36:09 pm »
Does anyone have any advice, opinions, or thoughts on what kind of dry food might be best for a Saint Bernard puppy? What kind of food do you feed your giant breed?

Mallory is supposed to be home in six weeks and I'm trying to do all the research I can so I'll be ready for her when she comes home. Her breeder told me that they don't feed a brand name dog food. She also mentioned that what I fed her needed to be meat based and not have too much protein, to avoid her growing too fast. Any ideas for a new Saint mommy?

Thanks Holly! I actually found that thread last night after I posted and was reading through your advice on ingredients. It was very helpful!

I went to a pet supply store online, compared ingredients, and found that I could have Innova shipped to my house, so I was excited about that. I'm glad you mentioned feeding the adult food, though, since I had just assumed the large breed puppy would be good enough.

Mallory and I thank you! :)
