Oh, I've seen these before - they are soooo sweet! You can totally tell who's in charge around there, huh!

Haha! I just got these in an email the other day!  But the email had step by step instructions from the dogs point of view on how to hug a baby.
Let me see if I can remember them...

Step 1: Spy a baby

Step 2: Make sure it is indeed a baby using patented sniffing techniques, if you smell a combination of baby powder, milk, and poop, you have found yourself a real baby!

Step 3: To ensure a proper hug, you must then flatten the baby.

Step 4: wrap both paws around baby and prepare for photo op.

Step 5: If a camera is present ...  Gosh I can't remember anymore...  But you get the basic Idea.  lol'

I thought it was just adorable!  Still do in fact!  ;D

I guess I can see the concern for danger due to the pup's size. As gentle as he's oviously trying to be, he can't know how fragile the baby is. That said, let's not forget that someone is standing right there with a camera. I don't know about you, but I don't think I would stand there clicking away with my camera as I watched my one ton dog crush my infant. Safe to say the photographer would have set the camera down to help the pup reposition if there were any danger to the baby. But, any excuse to demonize big dogs is great for the haters out there...the fear mongers...the uninformed...

What kind of dog is that?

Those pictures are on other boards.  The one where I saw them first had a title something like  How to break a baby, get a dog confiscated and euthanized, and send parents to prison.

That is way to hard of a judgment  ::)

Yeah, that's what I thought too when I saw the thread's title on that other board.  The baby looks happy and the dog looks like it is being very careful.

Here is a great short video that is also an example of how to hug.  In this case it is a lion and a woman.  Too cute!
