The only good thing is he actually gets jail time, a community order supervised for a year, a lifetime ban on pet ownership (not just dogs) and 150 hours of unpaid work. And he has to pay a fine. Wish they would give sentences like that here.

One year ago, Andrew Gaudin of Goderich, Sept 11/ 06, plead guilty to unnecessary injury to a cat he was sentenced to 6mos(which is the max in ON Criminal Code of Canada), 2 yrs probation upon release,2 yr prohabition(which means no animals in his care or control)
Rob Ryder 2001 was given jail time
Hamilton SPCA has had charges which jail time was served as was Head Office of the OSPCA

I understand that it is handed out, just not enough.
Agree'd ~ the Agents and Inspectors do the best they can do (most of the time)
MeandPhelan ~ banning him from ever having a tv would have hurt him where it counts
