I finally have a picture for my avater of my sweet little (lol) Koda. I have been lurking around here for some time waiting to introduce her. Her mother is pure Newf and father is pure Labrador. I was hoping she would get the Newf coat, I was using positve thinking by buying all the grooming tools when she was 4 weeks old, didn't work.  Huh She is exactly 9 weeks old today and weighs 22.8 lbs. I suppose I will be jumping back and forth between the Lab and Newf discussion since I love both sides of her. Eventually... someday, I plan on getting a full blooded newf sibling for Koda (all your beautiful pictures have turned me into a huge Newf fan). I am so greatful for this forum, it helped me prepare for her homecomming and teaches me soo much. I will definately be posting again with questions and hopefully some pictures.

Oh!  How adorable!!  She's bigger than my Newf was at that agealready - Sierra was 10 weeks and 20 lbs when we brought her home...

And Dahlie Juju is right about the hair - Newf puppy fuzz seems to regenerate all on it's own after it's fallen onto the floor.  I couldn't understand how my Sierra wasn't bald with all the fuzz that came off of her.

Congrats on your sweet Koda!  I think I speak for all when I say we want more pictures!!!!  And just think, now you have all the grooming tools when you get a Newfie brother or sister for big sister Koda to boss around.   Grin

Thanks everyone! I will work on getting those pictures. I was at the pet store the yesterday and someone asked me if she was a Newf. I was a little shocked, first time anyone saw that in her. With her short coat she looks like a really big lab. (Of course I just see a short haired Newf.. lol!) I am just so happy I have a dog in my life again. It just seemed so empty without one. Of course they are so addicting, one is never enough. Of course I can definately wait. I am not that ambitious, puppies are alot of work can't even imagine two at this point..lol!!

Koda is too cute! Don't count the longer hair out yet...Bear is half newf/canecorso and her hair was quite short and had a short haired tail until she was a few months old...now she is longer haired...and leaves tufts of hair everywhere

I hope so! We go to the lake all the time in the summer, she is going to get pretty bored if she doesn't..lol. We definately wanted a pup that would enjoy the water, I think we have a good chance.
