I wish uneducated dog owners would become more educated into thinking these dogs are superior examples of the breed.  They too seem to be the ones that act like they know it all and stumbled onto something that is amazing and new.

I disagree with the pit crop...there are many many different breeds that have what is known as the pit crop long before the pit.  My dog is from middle asia and his whole ear flap is removed at 3 days.  The ear is the size of a thumb nail and is healed over by the end of the week.  No taping or follow up visits on the ears.  In my dogs native country, the pit crop is known to be the shepherds crop for working dogs.

Cane Corso,
Presa's
Central Asians
Caucasian Ovcharkas
Spanish Alano
Dogo Argentino
and many more...

all these dogs have had these crops long before he pit came along.  I just hate how it gets stero-typed into the 'pitbull crop' the funny thing is people think that it is for fighting but more game pits have their ears intact'  I found that to be interesting

The site was very informative with all the different styles and yes only experienced licensed vets should perform these procedures

Thanks for your info :)

I read an ad for "rare"solid black GSDs the other day on one of those places where they advertise all the "breeders"--I forget which one.  I emailed them and told them not to bother to reply but to please take it off their ad that they are rare because they are not.  People make me so mad..........M inta

I agree! totally agree. I live in one of the most "upscale areas" aka El Dorado Hills California . AKA snob rich town ahah. I also work in EDHs and we get alot of clients with "rare breeds, rare designer dogs, and rare colors." Honestly I have already seen two silver labs, 10 + "red, Fox labradors", particolored poodles, particolored poms, the RARE "Blue nosed Pit, and the White pit."... not rare haha that is most common color I see in the clinic ahha, tha and brindle. We have several Presas, Cane Corsos, soo many deng designer dogs. Giant Dobermans are the ones that piss me off the most. etc. We even have a Kangal Dog, and an Akbash. I have seen more white GSD's honestly in my clinic then a sable, black and tan "normal" shepherd.
