I do know that rapid weight gain in growing puppies, especially during growth spurts is common.  Unfortunately, I am still figuring out what Jake should weigh at almost 2 so I'm not much help there.  Sounds about right to me though.

Ditto, sound about right.  I used to live at the top of a 3 story apartment complex.  Rasputin was scared to death of the stairs, so i would have to carry him up them for the first few months.  I almost threw my back out by the time he was 3 months old!!!  :D ;)

It sounds about right. It seems puppies really grow at different rates. One may have a growth spurt at 3 months then not again until 6 months. (I mean of course the puppy will be growing a gaining weight, but at a more slow and steady pace) My vet always told me to go by the frame of the puppy and how they feel. Can you slightly feel the ribs when run your fingers along the body (hard to do with a thick coated and skinned pyr!), does everything seem to be in proportion? Things like that.

Sounds like Bear is on his way to being one big beautiful boy!

Well, Cara was 42# at 15 weeks when we got her, so he sounds fine to me.  I'd second (or third?) the suggestion about feeling his ribs.  That's how I monitor my pups weights in between vet visits.

All of my pups have had real growth spurts when they suddenly eat & grow like mad.  Also, it isn't unusual for them to have a lull after one of the growth spurts, so you may find that his appetite will slow down a little for a bit soon while he rests up for the next big growth spurt.  Give that growing puppy a kiss for me.

Its crazy watching these big boys grow one week they'll put on 2 pounds the next 10 one thing
but as for average every puppies different so it all depends on certain variables diet, bloodline etc
