Meet my mystery mix pup! Do you see any pyr resemblance?
« on: February 28, 2008, 07:42:06 pm »
Hi everyone. I promised in my previous post i would upload some pictures of my dog. I think she looks a lot like a pyr i saw online... though as i mentioned before, she must not be all pyr because she's quite small compared to pyrs (weighing 45 lbs and coming in at 18 inches in height) and she lacks the pair of dew claws on her hind legs. She's about 8 months now.
Or maybe you know of another breed of dog that looks like this?

Whatever she is...she is adorable! Love the patch over her eye ;D
She does look like she has part Pyr in her for sure. The pic of her face straight on (nose close up)resembles a pyr nose - at least to me. Almost looks like she could have some collie in her perhaps? I am no expert unless it comes to cuties and she is totally a cutie!

Aside from coloring, she actually looks a LOT like Sam. Her nose is the same as his, and her ears that are kind of short and triangular, and perked up really high on her head. Really, she looks a lot like him to me. I can't imagine she's part berner though, not with such a light color. She is ADORABLE! maybe part australian shepherd? I don't know much about them, but her tan spots remind me of an aussie I know.

Who's Sam? lol.
She IS cute isn't she?  ;D
And she's not even that photogenic, i always think she's looking particularly cute, i take the picture, and... let's just say i think the camera doesn't quite capture what I'm seeing in real life.
I don't know what she may have in her dna, some sort of shepherd i think.

Her ears are high on her head only when she's 'interested' in something (which is almost always, lol, she's very alert to everything). And mostly her white/tan ear!  Otherwise they're kind of flat on her head.

haha, sorry! Sam's my bernese mountain dog puppy. He's the one in my picture! Sam's ears are the same as you describe hers- only, he's most always interested in something, which means they are most always perked up! They lie flat when he's sleeping, and that's about it!

Mmh... you're right. Sam does look like her... I didn't notice at first because of the coloring. (Thanks for telling me who Sam is, hehe). Taking a second look I do see some resemblance there...
Haha, yeah, when sleeping is mainly the time that those ears come down.

She is adorable!

I dont know if you would want to do this or not but there is a new DNA test for dogs that you can know exactly what breeds are in your dog.Its simple, they send you a tube with a swab and you swab the inside of your dogs cheek and send it back in.The test cost $79.98
Here is the web for it.

here's one from when he was a little smaller, where I think he looks quite a bit like her just in terms of head structure and expression.

She's such a cutie!!

You know I saw the pictures of her and I thought of Chammie, I definately see some Border Collie there, that inquisitive smart look, you know the one I'm talking about!   ;)

She has the cutest button nose EVER though!  I love the close up of her face, made me just want to cover that cute little nose in kisses!   :-* :-* :-* :-*

So cute! I was thinking pyr/australian shepherd?? Tipper  has those same inquisitive ears, he has some Shetland Sheepdog in him--I think those ears give your pup a look of a herding dog--inquisitive, intelligent, etc.

Who cares what she is, she's 100% adorable!! I know, everyone has used that word, but nothing else comes close to describing what a cutie she is. Congrats on your new baby. You MUST post lots more pictures
