So i have looked at other mastiff owners posts saying their 2 year old is 180 or 160 or something like that.  But my puppy is 9 months old and 185......and he is skinny too...he is going to be enormous isn't he....i know that he is 30 pounds heavier than his siblings.but.. it was a female. I just can't imagine if a 2 yr old weighs 160-180 and my pup weighs more....lol... so funny how they grow so different...

Whoooosh!  He's a big boy!  I don't know much about mastiffs - only that they are BIG pups.  We have the Malamutes who are also "oversized".  My girl is now 105 and her brother weighed in at 125.6 .( Lots smaller than your guy!)  They are one month shy of the 1st birthday.  We drop into the vet once a month for a weigh in to make sure they are not getting too big too fast and that they "fit" their body.  Fortunately the vet techs are great and more than willing to visit with the pups when we come in to let me know if we are getting on the heavy side.  So far so good.  And they don't charge for the weigh in. Smiley

Good Luck with your big boy!

I too am not familiar with Mastiffs as far as weight is concerned.

Could you speak to your breeder and find out what you should be expecting as far as his development is concerned?

Our Saint Bernard Norman is 11 months old this week, and tipping the scales at 150 at the moment and you can still feel ribs quite easily.

We are feeding a raw diet, so we too drop in at the vet regularly for a weigh in and to make sure that he's not gaining too fast.  So far so good.

We spoke with his breeder last week, and she mentioned that she had had one of Norman's sibblings in at the vet and he was weighing in at 120 lbs, so compared to his brother, Norm is bigger.

I did talk to his breeder, the rest in the litter are 30-40 pounds lighter than he is.  Titan's mom was 165 and his dad was about 220 and 32 inches and that was at 6 years old.  So Titan is 31 inches tall at 8 months old....and almost 200 pounds at 8 months too!!!!!! Oh MY..... He isn't fat...he is fed raw food, and you can see all of his ribs when he runs, it is hard to put weight on him (although i don't really want to put weight on him anyway while growing)  but....he is such a little moose!!!

He's as they say a true giant!  Our vet is always talking about the ribs - so its sounds like you are on top of things and he is just going to be a big guy. Its amazing how some pups just grow and grow.  We have a 20 pound difference in litter mates - but it is also a male/female thing.  Keep us posted!
