How to understand certifications (hip, heart, etc.)
« on: August 01, 2008, 09:57:18 am »
Hey all-
I got such good feedback on my other question I have one more--how do you read the health certifications? The parents of the pup I want have been hip, elbow, and heart checked. How do I know whats "good" they got "good" on some things "normal" "clear" etc., how do I know whats the best to go with, and how do I know that I'm looking at legit results?
New to the world of big doggies, so I have some learning to do.

"Good", "Fair" and "Excellent" are for hips only. For breed genetic disorders you want to see "clear" and for everything else like cardiac, elbows, patella, Cerf it's either normal or not  ;)
