British remedy for hot spots

I just found this while searching for something else. Makes sense too. Have any of you tried it?

Tea and Aspirin:
Organic Earl Grey tea. (or black) 3 bags in 2 cups boiling water. Let stand for 1/2 hour. Squeeze the tea bags & remove. Add one 325 mg plain aspirin and stir till dissolved. Pour into a bottle (preferably brown) and apply with cotton ball.

I just added this to my "list" of home remedies. No hot spots here yet this spring/summer but you never know.
