Yall will never believe what we found on our walk...
« on: July 01, 2008, 12:09:30 pm »
a RATTLESNAKE!!!!!!!!  It was in the middle of the road.  We were walking yesterday afternoon (thank God we didnt have the dogs) and my hubby grabs me and throws me back.

I yelled at him asking why he did that and then I heard it.  It was a female rattlesnake that looked like it had been hit by a car but still very much alive.  She was having babies!!!

There were little rattlesnakes all over the road.  None were alive they all looked too young to be born.  My husband called someone and the ycame out to humanely put it out of its misery.  Hubby was going to do it but I wouldnt let him get near it.

Ohhhh man, my stomach is doing flip flops.  :o  :o  :o  Ewwwwww, I am soooo NOT a rattlesnake fan.  I had way, way, wayyyyyy too many very close encounters with them when we lived in CA.  Under my son's bike, almost under another son's foot ( :o), inside our door thresh holds with their heads sticking out ready to strike our feet, on the sidewalk beside my then 3 y/o son, in our garage, anywhere outside on the lawn...it goes on & on.  But even as much as I passionately dislike the blasted things, the idea of a pg one getting hit and giving birth prematurely and all of them dying makes me sad.  Gosh, I can't make up my mind, can I?  :-\  I'm sorry for her & her babies and I'm really sorry that you had to see that.  :(  Sad all around....

Yea same here! The only thing that I felt bad aout with that snake was that the babies were dead and didnt have a chance but then thought about it and was like well I really wouldnt want all those snakes right by my house either.
