Welcome!  We have one Pyr, our first as well, and her name is Cirra.  We don't post a heckuva lot but try to when we can offer something.  Busy with our dog scouting and our big gal!  Again, welcome, and there are many Pyrs here!

Hello,
My husband and I decided to get my 4 year old a puppy for his birthday.  We found great pyrenees pups for sale so we are  going to pick ours up tommorrow.  I was just wondering how your has been doing.  Do you keep it in the house or outside.  I am curious to know how this type of dog will do inside with housetraining and everything.

If you don't have livestock for them to guard, keep your puppy inside.  They need to bond with someone or something and then want to be with that person or animal.  Jake will only go out to do his business and eat.  Other than that, he is leaning against the door, waiting to come back in.  Inside he is not a velcro dog, but he needs to be where we are, even if he is in another room.  He will come in to check on us from time to time and generally sleeps in our bed.  Conratulations on the new pup.  Expect lots of barking, shedding and loving.

I think you will love your Pyr to pieces. The only thing I would add is that mine grew SO fast that the little people got kind of freaked. The more the pup and little one are together, the better it is. The puppies love to play and they get so HEAVY so fast.

Have fun!

My Chantilly is 12 weeks. I've had her 8 days and she's already completely potty trained! Shocked Initially, she had several accidents, but I firmly said "no" and took her outside. She wakes me up at night to go potty. Kiss

I've had dogs my entire life and I have never seen a dog learn as quickly as she does.

Chantilly's an inside dog, but dearly loves to run with the big dogs & play in the leaves.

I have seven grandchildren, and they love her so much. I think you made an excellent choice, and will adore your puppy--I'm so in love with mine. On one of my posts, you can see Chantilly "herding" my 3 yr old granddaughter! Kiss

Good luck and post pictures as soon as possible!  Cheesy
