Wonderful Mastiff Mix Needs A Little Help

Hi:  Our 501(c)(3) non profit organization, The West Georgia Animal Welfare League, rescued a wonderful Mastiff mix and would appreciate any donations to help with his medical care. Here is Arnie's story...

Arnie was a 'neighborhood dog' and he is about one year old.  He was living under decks and in the woods and was getting fed by some people in the neighborhood for several months.  Because Arnie did not receive basic vet care, he got an infection and was heavily infested with heartworms.  Luckily, we were made aware of Arnie's plight by one of the neighbors and we caught him (with the help of Animal Control) before the icy October wind and rain started.  He probably would not have survived much longer without medical care.  Arnie is currently up at the vet receiving antibiotics and treatment to eradicate the worms tunnelling through his heart and lungs.  He is a gentle soul who never complains while getting his IV inserted, getting antibiotic injections, taking x-rays and getting his temperature taken.  Once Arnie is well on the road to recovery, he will be ready for his new home.  He loves kids and puppies and he will make a wonderful family member and a best friend for life.
