Cirra's Dog Scout Troop
« on: December 21, 2008, 05:48:58 am »
We have been very busy with Cirra's Dog Scout Troop this past year!!!  Here are a few pictures from this year's Christmas Parade and a Downtown Family Festival.  We gave out "Safety Around Dogs" actvity books on the parade route and taught children how to greet dogs at the festival.

Robyn, Denise and Cirra

How cool!  How large is your group!
They've been trying to get one started around here but there hasn't been much interest, surprising to me.
I can't imagine many people were watching that parade, the weather doesn't look to inviting.

Thanks!  We have 11 households so far.  It has taken time to get established.  It started as three people total with one being a "silent" member just to help us get started as a troop.  You can be a national dog scout member without being in a troop. We were for months before trying to start a troop.  Robyn has done a tremendous amount of work to keep the troop active and progressing forward to become more self-sufficient.  The members we have are fantastic and many are involved in dog activities such as reading to children, therapy, agility, rally, etc.  Even the Chihuahuas came out for Christmas because it was not actually that cold, just snowy!
