That's like 25% in one week, you can't really expect more than that. Since he started so small that is really quite a bit. That's pretty scary if I think about how much weight that would be for me if I gained 25% of my body weight in one week. I assume he is still quite healthy, so it will just be interesting to see where he ends up.
Clifford is still only about 100 lbs at 17 months old. I wanted a really big Newf, but so far he is on the small side. Of course I wouldn't trade him for anything. Except when he is a "bad, bad dog," he is the sweetest most wonderful dog I have ever known, so of course that is the most important thing.

I don't know about tiny Newf puppies but older puppies gain more like 2-4 pounds a week.  Fargo and Sadie both gained 10 pounds last month, for example.

Sounds like your little man is doing his best to catch up to his littermates!

Awww, he's such a cute little guy!  Wow, a 25% gain is huge.  Really, what if a 120# person gained 30# in one week??  Boggles the mind!  I don't think that I could do that even if I ate ice cream all day long (but it sure sounds yummy  Wink).  Funny story?  My Dad was only 3-4# at birth, but he stands head & shoulders above his siblings and wears a size 14 shoe.  He's often laughed that he was the "runt" in his family.  Just goes to show how much a little one can catch up & at 25% in one week, I'd say Gilligan is well on his way.   Kiss  Smiley
