vaccuum cleaner recommendation?
« on: April 08, 2009, 06:29:54 am »
OK, I have a limited budget, but will be adopting an Aussie soon (already have 2 Persian cats).  Needless to say, the 'hair factor' will now become huge.....SO... .need to get a good vacuum cleaner.  Have both carpet & wood flooring.  Any recommendation s would be most welcome!

I've got the Bissel Healthy Home, which is quite similar to the pet hair eraser but has a better heppa system
Now despite two cats and the Rubydog (and the one cat and the dog though shortish haired shed A LOT!) my friends with allergies can come in and hang out.
It's a bagless and yeah I'm emptying the container everytime I do my place but hey that just means it works!
oh and it has a handy on board "power" brush for furnature

My mom has a dyson and it works wonders. I couldn't afford one so I got a bissel pet hair eraser and the first one broke and now my second one gets clogged ALL the time but maybe I just have bad luck with vacuums.

I have an Oreck and I don't like it - it was not worth the money.  I vacuum and then swiffer and there is a ton of hair on the swiffer.

have you taken the inner cyclone completely out and cleaned up in there, and between there and the hose?  If not, do it!  Wads of stuff gets stuck up there.  If you have and that isn't working, call Bissell!/quote]

I have on both of them. The new one I've taken out multiple times to make sure I kept up on it. I even take it all apart clean both filters and pop off the bottom and make sure the brush can spin.. But it still is always making funny noises and not sucking sometimes. I should call their CS.Thanks for the idea..
