Deuce and his new family
« on: September 14, 2005, 09:18:50 pm »
Deuce when to his forever home tonight. Bob and Joan are a retired couple in Irving.  Nice house with a big back yard. Deuce has a great new playmate, Sidney, a 6 year old aussie mix who started playing immediately. When I left Deuce was laying on his new bed, chewing on his new toy.

Joan paid the adoption fee with winning she got from a slot machine, so she might rename him after the slot machine, Apache, or Patch for short.

PupDaddy's heart it full of joy, even though his house is a little empty tonight (But I bet, not empty for long)

Great to hear he got a new home.  They look like a very happy family together.

So, If we're drinking tonight, it's in celebration, not to drown sorrow.

They look really happy together - just look at the grin on Deuce's face!   :D

If I were you, I'd frame that one, Pup Daddy - just seeing it should help take alot of the sting out of the "I'm missing You!" feelings.

Here's raising a glass to Pup Daddy!  Care-taker of exceptionally fine pups!!!   :D

I had a houseguest Thursday and Friday, a short foster who's going to his forever home Saturday. His front end looks great, but his rear and tail have to be shaved to get the mats out.

He's a lot harder to step over than Deuce was!

Deuce's new name is "Apache" and he is really acting like a little Indian.  Eager, happy, excited and full of life.  We love this dog and are so glad we found each other.  His big brother Sydney is aleady teaching him the routine of patroling the yard and chasing the squirrels over the fence.  He gave his foster Dad a big kiss when he left.  I guess the term "forever home" is the key on being at peace with the transition.  Best to all of you.  "Apache's" new Mom, Joan
