Someone asked about the different kinds of Mastiffs in one of my groups, and these are the only ones I could think of off the top of my head.
English, Bull, Neopolitan (Neo), French (Dog de Bordeaux), Cane Corso, Tibetan, Spanish, Boerboel, Fila Brasillero.
Wow it sounded like more inside my head......... Anyways, what other ones are there?

central asian, caucasian, pyrenean, presa, puterr rican mastiff, spanish mastiff, japanese tosa, bull mastiff, burnese mtn dog, bully kutta. those are just a few more

I don't know if some of these were said already b/c some are known by more than one name, but there's also the:
Bandogge Mastiff
Dogo Argentino
Great Dane (german mastiff)
Indian Mastiff
Danish Mastiff (Broholmer)
Calabrian Cane corso (different breed than cane corso)
Mastiff of Terceira (easiest name to spell)
Cane Garouf (alp mastiff)
Chein de Trait (belgian mastiff)
Cypro Kukur (Kumaon mastiff)
Cuban mastiff
Maltese mastiff
Abruzzese mastiff
I guess it depends on if you are looking for those dogs just with Mastiff in the name, or those that are of mastiff type. I think there are many more mastiff type dogs, such as the st. bernard and newf that probably have mastiff in them, but aren't considered mastiffs today. I got most of the breeds listed off of http://www.moloss.com/ but there are many more on that website that I think could be considered mastiffs, it just doesn't say in their name.

Those dogs are considered molossers...ju st because they dont have mastiffs in the actual name doesnt make them any less a Mastiff

I wasn't sure. I was trying to find the meaning of the word molosser, which wasn't easy b/c it's not in the dictionary. 
But some of those are bulldog types, so I wasn't sure if they would fit into the mastiff category.

That is an interesting site. I wish they had a bit more information on the dogs, but for what they do give, I can get at least an idea of what the dog is about. Nice that they have pics for most of them.
Not so happy about some of the crossbreeds they have in there, since they aren't registered breeds yet, but I guess I can see why they added them.
I will have to look more later. There are certainly many that I have never heard of before.

I have huge disagreements with that board...crosse s and mixes are classififed with mastiffs...gar y (the board owner) is a good person but knows little about dogs.

Yeah, I had some misgivings about a number of the choices to be labeled as mollosers, but I figured it was interesting anyway.

Tis a very interesting website if you're into the history of the Mastiff. For instance, did you know one of the original Mastiffs in the English stud book circa 1820 was described as a black rough coated Tibetan Mastiff?

Wow, I never knew they had any other coat other than short haired. The fluffy mastiffs are very handsome.
Will have to keep these fluffy mastiffs in mind for future dog ownership.

Don't forget the Pyrenean Mastiff who used to be classified as the Great Pyrenees....Ve ry very similiar but Pyr Mastiffs are much larger!
