Please be careful with gates
« on: October 05, 2005, 10:48:04 pm »
Just found out last night that Apache's brother Logan was hit by a car. There were 4 dogs playing together in the yard & some how the gate got opened & it happened. Clip your gates.  I don't care how well trained they are, I don't think I'll ever let them off lead. This is the 2nd sibbling to be lost this way so heartbreaking.

That is so true! Tim and I caught 2 loose large dogs last night, and the city ound came and picked them up. The officer said that this time of year, with the wind being so strong, gates fly open and dogs get loose.
These 2 dogs were soo cute and nice. She did say that 90% of the time the oweners come get them the next day.

I am so sorry to read this  :'( My gate is locked to keep my boys in and safe, and to keep people out. There were a few times where some one opened my gate  >:(

We paddlock ours too. Keep the dogs in and people out ;)
I spent 4 hours one day looking for oyur neighbours dogs who got loose from the wind blowing the gate open. They were at work and there was noone else to look for the dogs. They finally reappeared on our yard and were escorted home :)

Our gate has a code entry only. We have made sure very few people have the code and we change it every few months.  Those that have the code know I will kill them if they leave it open even for a little while.
