What do I do for dry flakey "skin"?
« on: October 26, 2005, 10:54:24 pm »
Hi,
My 8 mo old Saint, Bailey, has really dry flakey skin right now.  What should I do for her?  Is there something to help this or make it go away?  Thanks!

You can try adding fish oil capsules to her diet.  Or a little olive oil.  You can also apply aloe directly to her skin and rub it in good. :)

Fish oil capsules work wonders. I would also not bathe her for a while so that the oils in the skin can come back too.

Adding fish oil (omega three) supplements will help. They also make sprays for dry skin (I use one with shea butter). Also, for bath time, they make oatmeal shampoos that are gentle on dry skin, and if you bathe frequently, you should also use a conditioner to replenish the natural oils.
