I would feed the best dog food that i could afford.  READ THE LABLE!
Quality doesn't come from corn, wheat or oat meal if that is the first
ingredient on the nutrition contents...I always go with meat as the first ingredient. I got really good results with Diamond brand dog food
for large breeds.  I live in canton, ohio, and i don't know if this is a
regional brand or can be found country wide.  A good sign is if you
dog's stool is firm, somewhat dark in color, and dry.  This means they
are getting the most from their food.  If the stool is soft and mushy
and you need papertowels to pick it up...crappy food.  Also the  stool
with good wuality food should be easy to pick up, even withyour
fingers if the need would arise.  thanks for listening,

Our dogs like Blue Buffalo (www.bluebuff.c om) and we change to a couple of other premium brands every now and then just to surprise them.

I used Proplan for years & just recently starting switching to Nutro, which is supposed to be better.

Hello,
We're new today, thanks to whomever posted this link on Craig's List! We have a Doberman and 2 Rhodesian Ridgebacks. We feed them Canidae currently but another good food is Solid Gold, although it's a little more expensive...
Previous poster was absolutely correct in that you really need to read the ingredients - the first ingredient should be a meat of some kind. Dogs do not digest corn well and it's the cause of many allergies. We used to feed them Nutro, but switched when I looked at the ingredients.  Our new Ridgeback puppy gets 1/2 Canidae and 1/2 Eukanuba Large Puppy food until she's a year, and then will switch to the Canidae exclusively. We feed our dogs better quality food than we put into ourselves  :)
