Hey all, this is Angus!  Our new addition American Mastiff from Flying W Farms in OH.  He just made it home Saturday night and has already stolen our hearts.  He is 9wks & about 20lbs of puppy love.  I'll post more of him later

Please do not let this thread about my new pup get to dramatic (you know who you are reading this), but the American Mastiff is a relatively new breed (about 25yrs running).  Not AKC recognized, but started as a cross between OEM and Anatolian.  Pretty much looks just like OEM, but for the most part has tighter bottom lip eliminating SOME of the excess drool.    Again, I don't want my happy announcement thread to get dramatic.  I know a lot of people have VERY intense convictions about this breed.    Most important to me, he is a loving sweet happy pup!

Well, I agree!  Very good looking and sweet.  I am owned by a Leonberger -who is a mix of a St. Bernard, Newfy and Great Pry so no judgement here.   Grin Cheesy

I love the color ... almost blonde.  Smiley  and of course he's at that tiny phase that just makes you want to squeeze his cheeks and hug him way too tight.

He is sooooooooooooo ooo cute!!!!! I love him. I have visited the Flying W farms website. Those dogs are beautiful. I am all for the less drool thing! I have enough drool here to fill a small pool........or maybe a large pool.LOL

I saw his pic off on the latest member blip.  He is too cute, but I am a sucker for pretty much any mastiff type dog.   Grin  Can't wait to see more pics.

And I love the name Angus.

My name is Chris, and I have a husky/shep female Keiko, and a great dane pup Gunther.  Welcome to BPO.

Seriously, you should get that fella an agent right away! I see a male modeling career in his near future!!!

I think American mastiffs sound like wonderful dogs, I have only heard great things from people who have adopted them. I hope no one here ever judges your decision to own a more recently developed breed. They all start somewhere! Cheesy

Angus is gorgeous!  I have two Newfies, Cowboy a three year old Landseer I (black & white) and Chester, a 9 month old brown.  I don't know anything about the American Mastiff breed but look forward to learning more.
