Saint Bernard Bed
« on: November 24, 2005, 03:03:29 pm »
We are looking to buy a new bed for Molly and was wondering what size beds do the rest of you use for your saints. I don't want to buy one that is going to be to small later on.

The kind of bed zoey likes best is a round bolster bed - it doesnt have a measurement, it's just called extra large size. She also has a rectangle bed that is 36x48 that she just barely fits all of her on

Earnest has his own twin bed, Phyfe has a futon cushion, I guess it would be called 3/4 size (square, and not quite the size of two twins side by side).

Kate isn't a Saint Bernard (she's a Leo) but we found a really neat bed, more like a cot actually.  It supports the spine really well, sits about 4" off the ground, and has a really good warranty.  She loves it (but) I bought it too small.  I underestimated her growth!  I'll be buying another one when she grows out of this one, but she zonks right out on it.  She'll even lay on it instead of the couch with us (even with an invite)!!!  She loves it a lot...

Here's a pic of her on it, my goodness she was so little when I took this!

Cowboy and Chester have the Orvis Delux Deep Dish Dog nest ....and they are the biggest I could find. Chester's is 61 and half inches long and 44 inces  wide ;  big enough to make you fall flat on your face in the middle of the night!!! ;D

Yep...it's amazing the swear words you can find in the unconscious brain while tripping to the bathroom.  Between darling husband and I, I think they've ALL come out!

Judge uses a King Size bed. We share , although when the kids and cats are in it too I get the couch. >:( I like the idea of him having his own bed. Maybe Ill try to find one and get my bed back. LOL HOPEFULLY!! Ill likely end up on the dog bed and everyone else in my king size bed. :-\

k2campbell... I really like Kate's bed. I think I will make one like it for Roxy. It just looks like pvc pipe! I am trying...again ... to post a recent pic of her.

You should try and look for a used crib matress.  They're the perfect size and all you have to do is wash the sheets to clean it.   I found a brand new crib matress that someone was giving away for free on www.freecycle. org ( look up your region and join the yahoo group).

I got to looking at those beds...the PVC ones.  I couldn't believe the cost!  I'm gonna make one of my own and do the sling part out of denim....then probably find a crib mattress and put on top of it.  Hmmmm....Can't be difficult.  sch 40 pvc, couplers, a sewing machine (heavens knows I have one of those) and some denim....and I get to make it the size I want!  All for about $20....
