Hello all,

This is Chase's third day with us and I couldn't ask for a better puppy.  I have a question though,  Chase sleeps a LOT.  As soon as he wakes up he drinks and then eats, not consistently in that order, then goes outside to do business, then comes inside and plays and then crashes.  I am wondering if this is normal.  He loves to sleep.  Thank you for the input.

I am not the puppy expert, but I think it is pretty normal for a pup his age to sleep a lot.  He is just a little tiny baby.  It is normal for a little pup to play hard and crash hard.  I would say as long as he isn't acting lethargic or odd during his awake times, he is probably just fine.

O.K. Thank you.  He is acting like he is full speed ahead.  I hope that part wears off because I don't know what I would do if he played this hard when he weighed that much more.

Yeah, I wouldn't worry about it too much.  Gunther seemed to spend most of his young puppyhood sleeping away the day.  He still sleeps alot.

Maybe I just have a lazy dog.   :-\

What a handsome puppy!  Welcome!  I don't get on here too very much...my work schedule and the brat pack keep me pretty busy....but I really enjoy seeing all the pics and info!
Best of luck to you and Chase!

Don't worry about the sleep. Puppies like to hard and sleep harder.

When zoey was chase's age, she would sleep constantly. And no matter where we were, if she thought it was nap time, she would go to sleep. She slept through a vet exam once, took naps in the aisle of the pet store, and once I had to carry her for almost a mile because she decided to nap in the middle of a hike :D

Just checking in after a few days away, wanted to welcome Chase. He is definitely a cute pup.  My two cents on all the sleeping...we brought Angus home about 3 weeks ago and he sleeps a ton too!  I think these big boys grow SO fast they need all the sleep they can get.   I admit tho, you can get spoiled by his sleeping and may find yourself WISHING he would take a nap when he wants to be crazy puppy when you are tired..lol.        congrats on your pup! ;D
