is humping bad for the hip?
« on: December 04, 2005, 11:40:11 am »
Cody likes to hump Nikki when they're out and running around. Nikki is getting too tall for Cody now.. and he must jump up n down in order to hump her. (will attempt to capture this rapturous moment on film to illustrate my point)

it's even worse when the ground's icy and they're both slippin and slidin when this activity is enacted. i really don't mind Cody doing his dominance thing because when inside, Nikki likes to smack him around. i feel he should be allowed his chance for redeption.  ;) but the question is: is this bad for his hip? should I be worried for the long run?

I love taller women!

:D  Tell Cody to try it "doggie-style" that seems less hard on the hips, than the standing hump.......... .

Simply the best question ever asked on BPO! My sides are hurting!  :D

Sadly I have no idea what the answer is.

 :D :o

Well, definately had to stop at this post!!  What an intriguing title!!

Humping pressure on hips...not sure...

BUT, you do realize that humping can have other implications!!

Humping can be due to excitability.  It could be due to a dominance issue.  It could be due to a female in heat.

Personally, we do not allow humping with our dogs and yes, two boys will do the same because it is a dominance issue.   We don't allow it because, a dog is a dog and will do it to small humans if they are led to believe this behavior is alright.  Small humans to dogs are meerly another pup to be dominated.

So rather than hip issues...think about what is causing it!!!  Trust me, we have had our days with our own Newfs, and you don't want a big dog thinking it can hump on a whim!!!
