A guy at work's friend is giving these guys away.  The guy at work says they are purebred labs.  I can see the yellows and black one being pure but the tan with black masks.  It is a bad picture but the only one I have.  What do you guys think they are.  I though lab/mastiff, lab/boxer, or lab/shepherd.

Thanks,

Emily and 1 husband, 1 boy, 1 on the way, and 4 crazy dogs

my guess would be lab/boxer.  Mastiff puppies have HUGE paws so I would think if there was mastiff in them their paws would be alittle bigger.   They sure are cute though.

Very true.  But that one in the front looks so big.

yeah he does look pudgy   Cheesy.  Its really weird they don't even look like they all have came from the same litter.  Are you sure the one is black or could it be a dark brindle?

I don't know, I haven't seen them.  It could be either.  But the yellow ones look very yellow lab to me.

Thanks,

I wonder if two different dogs got to the female when she was in heat. It's possible the labby ones are purebred and the black-masked ones are "half-breeds". Nigel's litter had two different fathers. Strange phenomenon...

Cute pups though either way! I bet mastiff/lab crosses would be cool dogs! Or whatever they are! Cheesy

The ones with yhe black masks look ALOT like tater did when he was smaller and we think tater is some kind of bullmastiff mix (possibly shepherd). They sure are cuties and either way they will be smart and a handful.  Grin

They are some cute! I think that the yellow and black ones are pure but the tan are 1/2, like Rebekah said it seems like another dog got to her when she was in heat. Can I ask,why is he giving them away?

I think Rebekah and I are sharing a brain today. I was going to say the same thing. I bet she bred with 2 different dogs - and that's probably why he's giving them away.

It's not such a "strange phenomenon", though. This happens with dogs all the time if they are allowed to free-breed.

They may be black-mouthed cur mixes, too.
