EXCITING!
« on: May 07, 2005, 08:36:47 pm »
One of the male pups will be making his home in Salt Lake City Utah and will grow up to be a therapy dog!  I am very excited for him!  Just had to share!  Hope everyone has a wonderful mothers day wether its with 2 or 4 legged kids!   ;D

OH THATS SUCH GREAT NEWS!  what a fun way for him to grow up!  and what a great feeling it must be to know that one of your puppies will be doing something so great.

Therapy dogs are used mainly in hospitals, nursing homes, treatment facilities.  Research has shown that using animals in the care and treatment of patients greatly improves quality of life and speeds healing.  You will notice in many nursing homes the utilization of Bird aviarys, cats, and fish.  Many homes also have "live in" dogs.  A therapy dog is a bit different.  Lives with its owner, but actually "works" at these facilities visiting, walking beside patients, providing emotional and physical support, it is really quite an awesome thing to see.  The woman purchasing one of the boys is a Unt Manager or a large facility and has one therapy dog already, wishing to purchase another for use in one of the Psych facilities.
