Newfie mix in NC needs home
« on: February 01, 2006, 12:02:27 pm »
Saw this ad on craigslist. I don't know anything beyond the ad.  But I thought it couldn't hurt to post a link here.

So what that means is, "My wife got this D@MN dog while I was in Iraq, now I'm back, and I don't want him!"

Kinda makes me mad. Newfies don't need alot of space...they aren't super active. I guess we don't know what he's mixed with...could be Border Collie.....*sigh* I feel like when you get a pup of unknown origins, you signed up for him, no matter his size.

Sorry..didn't mean to thread-jack in order to rant....I'm grumpy today.

Actually, I thought the same thing as you about the family when I saw the ad. I hoped maybe a real dog-lover at BPO would be able to help out  ;). It's not the puppy's fault his "dad" is a jerk!

Exactly. Poor little guy! If I weren't already adding a Saint in June....hahahh aa! I've got a Newfie mix. He's AWESOME! And certainly doesn't need alot of space. He wants to be like, 3 feet away from where I am, and if he can do that while sleeping, even better. That's him in my avatar, doing what he does best!

Oh that poor puppy.  I hope you can help him.  Are they that clueless as far as taking care of dogs?  I'd help out too but I'm in CT.  Keep us updated.

That's the first thing I thought of, Nic...that he looked just like Cabeza.  Okay.. so the guy said he's had a couple inquries about the sweet boy.  I'm going to see if I can go check him out in the next couple of days.  My main concern is how he'll be with Tigger the cat, since he's never been exposed to cats before and of course, how he'll react to Ranger.

What do you guys think?  Sound like a good plan?

Well...if he acts like Cabeza, he won't care about cats or Ranger. Of course, him not being neutered will probably impact his reaction to Ranger SLIGHTLY...but ...all you can do is test it out! Tigger will probably make it easier, since he's already used to dogs.

If you need to give the guy any references, you can always use us! (Not that he sounds like the kind of guy to ask for references or anything....)

TAKE MORE PICS WHILE YOU'RE THERE! hahahaha!
