any ideas about chewing???
« on: February 18, 2006, 04:45:48 pm »
hello all, i just brought home my new golden retriever pup 2 weeks ago. hes doing great for the most part. not too many accidents in the house, and hes already learning how to sit and hes made friends with the cats. the biggest problem we are having is his chewing/biting. i know hes a puppy and puppys chew/bite everyhing. he has loads of toys and things to chew on. hes really bad about biting your shirt sleeve when you pet him and grabbing on to your pant leg while you are trying to walk. we say, "no bite" in a stern voice and we've tried ignoring him when hes biting, and we've tried the loud "ah!", and we've tried a squirt bottle and hitting our hand with a newspaper and none of it seems to be helping. anyone have any other suggestions? or is this just something that we are going to have to wait for him to grow out of?
  thanks for any ideas,
