Our latest therapy dog visit
« on: March 15, 2006, 09:38:14 pm »
Today we went to a brand new retirement home. It was the most beautiful place with the most caring, loving people. Bear was a huge hit! I loved them and they loved him.  ;D Here are some pics.
Hugs,
Jaime

Ok Jamie, Bear is too cool looking, do you have a picture from the side with his little vest on.  He looks too cool.

That is my favorite one too. She was really sweet and as she left to go to her apartment she said, "Oh, I'll think about this big wonderful Bear all night! And I will look forward to next week's visit very much."

It made me wanna cry.  ;D

Jamie I am SO proud of you and Bear!  I want to look into this when Boudreaux gets old enough.  I think it is such a great idea to give back!  <<hugs>> to Bear for being such a great dog and to you for giving back!

That vest looks so tiny on him.  It's great that he can make peoples days better like that...keep up the good work Bear.

Do any of the people seem put off by his size or are they excited that he is such a big boy?  I really would like to do this here in town (we don't even have him yet and I am making plans already...lol)

There have been a few instances when people who are "scared" of dogs don't want to be near him but even they are intrigued by his size. Most people LOVE him and the fact that he is such an adorable giant fur rug...no grizzly bear....no shetland pony...no, I mean Newfy!  ;)

Good job Bear!!  I can't wait till Boo starts her therapy work.  She starts intermediate training Saturday.  Jaimie does Bear have to have red on to identify him as a therapy dog?  Bear is such a good ambassador for the big pawed!
