books by Katz
« on: March 30, 2006, 10:42:52 am »
Hey all,
Just wanted to share and recommend any book by Jon Katz.  I just finished reading "The Dogs of Bedlam Farm" and LOVED it.  Laughed, cried, learned... it has it all! :-) This guy is a dog lover and truly understands the emotional and psychological bond that can occur between dogs and humans.
Pick it up today -- or if you'd like, I'm happy to share mine.  Just PM to arrange.

:-) Jennifer

It's perfect for book club -- quick, easy read.  I'm just starting Marley :-\ , so will join the club next month. With a n 8-yr old saint, I hate reading books about dying dogs.  :'(

I will add it to the poll for April.  It sounds like a great book.

Amazon popped this book up on my "recommended books" list a couple of days ago.

But if most of us haven't read any of his books before, maybe we should start with the first one, Running to the Mountain: A Mid-Life Adventure?  (I always check out what comes up on my recommended list from Amazon, because for some godforsaken reason it has a tendency to put the LATEST book in a series on your list, and ignore the rest of them!)  He's apparently writing about his dogs as a regular thing now--Bedlam Farm is his 3rd doggy bio book and Amazon has him down for a new one in late September.

We could all get caught up with him by then, coulnd't we?  And then all post reviews on Amazon together like a bunch of fan-girls and -boys.  :D

In looking at the list on Amazon, it looks like I read the second book first...."A Dog Year" was fantastic.  I've ordered the first and third so whatever everybody decides is great with me.
