Our Great Pyrenees just turned one. We had him since he was a puppy. He has not finished growing though. He is currently 75 lbs. I'll be happy to email a picture to you. He is beautiful and very gentle. He plays well with cats and dogs. He is not destructive. He is housebroken. I'm asking $100, only to help ensure he goes to a good home.

Her response to my inquiry for photos:

If you are interested, please call me.  I need to explain why I need to find him a home and I can answer questions better.

Thanks,

I don't really need or want another big white furry dog, especially another male, but I find it fascinating that people can just "give away" their dogs.  Wouldn't you take a long time considering before you adopted a Great Pyrenees?  I know I spent weeks agonizing over what kind, size, temperament of dog to adopt.

Anyway, wanted to let all the Pyr people on BPO know about this sweetie.

Okay, on second thought I realize that sometimes things happen in life you weren't expecting and since I haven't called the woman I really shouldn't judge her reasons for finding a home for this dog.

I apologize for being bitchy.  (No offense girl dogs)

It is really a shame that he has to find a new home. I will cross-post the infor to some other boards.

It is a bummer. I am going through a mess right now, but I'm holding out as far as my animals go. I may need to rehome Riley, but I'm only going to do it if it becomes apparent that that is what is best for him, too.

There was a Saint on Austin's CL the other day. I tried to email the people for info to post here, and they didn't even respond. I even told them about BPO. I was disappointed.

My bias is that there are many more dogs 'rehomed' than there are good excuses for doing it...
I once heard, "we got a puppy so we had to rehome our dog".  That is real scum if you ask me...

Definitely.

With Riley, it's a case of unexpected circumstances. I'm holding out, though. It'll be tough on him, and it'll just about kill me to have to do it.
