Help!! Diarrhea!!

Diarrhea help!

Oh heavens…I went home today at lunch to let Kuma out and my downstairs air unit apparently died.  Kuma is in the laundry room and it was hot.  I wouldn’t have though it was THAT hot…but it was warm.  Kuma had diarrhea everywhere!  This is the first accident she has had inside (Or even her crate ) in 3 weeks.  She has not had any change in her food or treats...Could it possibly have been the heat??
Poor thing!!   :(

She did seem a bit draggy.  She was obviously peppy to see me...but not like she normally is.  After she got out, got a drink and went upstairs (Where it was nice and cool) she seemed back to normal.

Poor baby!!! And poor you! Cleanup is never fun when it comes to that! It probably was the heat but keep an eye on her just to be safe. Remember it might feel warm to you, but they have double insolation fur coat going on. Sadie acts like it's 5 billion degrees if it hits the 70s! Hope she's feeling better soon!

Thanks for the help guys. I'll be honest...I feel like a thug!  A total "mommy" failure!   :(   And she was doing SO good on her potty training. (Yep..it was a nasty clean-up!)

The "slippery Elm"...am I looking for a pill type thing or a liquid?
Thanks again!

You can get it in a pill or powder form. I get the powder form and put a tablespoon on Kiah's food. It's cheaper for me then the pills. You can't overdose it. People actually use it in cooking.

Thanks for the information!  I am going to pick some up on the way home from work...sounds like something good to have on hand anyway.

I can't tell you how many times I felt like a mommy failure. Still do. Often. Ask my dog, she'll tell you all about it ;) Accidents happen. And when they're sick, it doesn't really count anyway.

DIARRHEA, CHA CHA CHA!!!  Poor Kuma, hope she feels better soon.  A little Brown Rice mixed into her food can help too if you can't find the Slippery Elm.

Please tell me you permanetly mark the poop spatulas, please! As for Kuma I can almost garantee it was the heat just conduct the usually search to be sure she didn't get into anything.

You all sell yourself short you wouldn't beat yourself up if it was a skin kid, one who could tell you something was wrong, well it is ten times harder when the kid can't talk. Just give her some extra love tonight.

my emmett used to get diahrea the first hot days of summer.
newfs are VERY sensitive to the heat, and a fan out of her reach is ideal if you are not home, so she has circulating air, and, plenty of water.
i also would be mindful she didnt pick up worms recently.
ghiardia, or coccidia.

Hallelujah!! The Slippery Elm seemed to have worked.
I went straight after work yesterday and picked some up…was not sure how much to give her but give her a capsule full when I got home, later that night and this morning.  This morning when she pottyed (OUTSIDE THANK GOD!  ;D) it was normal again.
Thanks again for the tip.  I WILL keep it on hand!
