Barkley Update - End of Week 5
« on: April 28, 2006, 06:44:56 am »
Another pretty good check up tonight.  One lymph gland on the right hind quarter is swollen, so we've upped the prednozone just a tad to see what we might be able to do about that.  He's still perky, full of energy and his appetite is huge!

He's still loving his daily walks.  He is losing his muscle mass, though, and that's hard to watch.  His weight has maintained at 130 lbs, which is about 17 lbs below where we usually maintained him.  With the loss of muscle mass, we're seeing some uncoordination and challenges getting up off floors and stuff.  We're going to keep any eye on that as it may start to become uncomfortable for him.  Thankfully the nicer weather is starting to arrive so he can stay out on the deck for longer periods of time.

And on another positive note, even though he had one accident in the house this week (on the carpet...my fault for leaving him in the living room while I went upstairs!), all the stains came up no problem with a little steam cleaner!  Life is indeed good.

Yes it is!  That's good news that he's doing this well.  I've been wondering since your last update didn't end too well.  Thanks for keeping us posted!  I do continue to pray for all of you!

Me too. I'm glad he's doing so well. Keep up the positive attitude! Seems like it's helping him a lot.
