Im a little concerned
« on: May 09, 2006, 02:36:49 am »
Everytime Gauge runs his hips fall inwards and he stumbles. I told Ben and he told me not to worry he is just a clumsy puppy. I took a short video to show you all. What do you think?

Does he sway a bit in the hind-end and then end up catching himself in the vids?  He is very cute.

Lets see if I can describe to make sense LOL He runs then he stumble over cause it looks like his hips fall inwards, but when he stands its normal. In the second video you can see him stumble when he is turning around. Does this make sense? The breeder has never had a puppy with any hip problems before and both parents were tested.

If I was you and you think it is something worth being concerned about, call the breeder.  She will be able to let you know for sure.  Plus it will show her that you are an attentive and concerned mommy!

Hope all is going well with the puppy introductions!

I can see what you what you are trying to say... I personally would call the breeder of have a vet look at him when he walks...  Maybe it is just nutrition, growing or nothing at all...

He is a MUFFIN though

He looks like he's moving fine....but could he be slightly 'cow hocked'?  like his knees are 'out' but the lower part of his legs are 'in' just a bit?  I don't think that's a problem, though!!!

He is adorable...and seems in all ways like a perfect puppy!!

I think he looks fine and any puppy problems with walking at this stage, I would say are just puppy clumsiness! When we brought Dolly home the first night, I think she just wanted lots of attention and somehow had figured out how to fake a limp! So I was all scared that the breeder had sold me a dog with a weak leg because she would hold it up when she ran, but I soon figured out that Dolly was just being a sneaky baby!
