Standard Shepadoodle Characteristics
Introduction
Shepadoodles, a cross between a German Shepherd and a Poodle, typically resembles more Shepherd than Poodle. The Shepadoodle, much like similar Poodle hybrids, is mostly a non-shedding dog with minimum allergens making this an ideal breed for people with allergies to dogs. Intelligent like the standard Poodle and Loyal like the Shepherd, the Shepadoodle is a great companion dog fit for many types of homes and activities. Due to the rule of hybrid vigor, shepadoodles tend to have less health problems with first generations, however problems do exist. Hip dysplasia common to Shepherds and eye disease is also common and it's important that parents be tested.
About the Shepadoodle Dog
Shepadoodles are dogs with high spirits and learn quickly. They are active dogs that do tend to need a sizable yard for exercise and frequent opportunities to play. Because of their Poodle line, Shepadoodles do tend to shed less requiring less work in terms of grooming. However, their coat does continue to need brushing to keep out mats and tangles.
